About the Grand Prix

Grand Prix are the biggest open entry Magic events run around the world, attracting thousands of players to battle for prizes and glory in a festival atmosphere. They’re high-energy and often feature the best players in the world, but you don’t have to be a pro to play. Grand Prix are open to competitors of all ages and no invitation is necessary. Playing a good game is all that matters, and with cash prizes and Pro Tour invitations up for grabs, one thing is certain: a Grand Prix is a sure-fire great time. Note: Anyone wanting to participate in the Grand Prix London main event must preregister online or on-site by Friday, August 14 at 9pm. There is no Saturday main event registration.

Grand Prix Schedule

Grand Prix Trials The winner of each 32-player Standard or Sealed Grand Prix Trial will receive 180 SCG Prize Wall tickets, Sleep-In Special upgrade, and a two-round bye to Grand Prix London! Prizes to all players with one or more wins!

Main Event Begins!
Standard format. All players with 21 or more match points or all players tied for 64th place, whichever is greater, advance to Day 2.
Grand Prix Day 2 After six rounds and a cut to the Top 8, the last players face off in a single-elimination bracket to determine the Grand Prix London champion!

Grand Prix Prizes

All players finishing 13-2 or better (39 match points) will receive an invitation to Pro Tour Battle for Zendikar regardless of placement.

Pro Points

Top 8 players receive Pro Points based on rank. All other players receive Pro Points based on their match point total at the end of the event.

Byes earned through Planeswalker Points are calculated using the Planeswalker Point totals from all reported events as of the Wednesday immediately before the Grand Prix. Points earned in tournaments held at the Grand Prix event site do not count toward earned byes at that Grand Prix.
